2011 Sponsorship Opportunities

Thank you for sponsoring The Pink Moon Festival and helping bring music and art to the mountains of southern West Virginia!

The Pink Moon Festival has become a musical hub in the middle of Monroe County, WV since it's beginning in September of 2009.  Voted the third best festival by the Roanoke Times in 2009, and featured on the front cover of the arts section in 2010 the annual Pink Moon Festival is a celebration of family, community, music and art.  The beautiful mountaintop venue has been sculpted to include the main stage, Shangri-La Vending & Arts Village, a black light mini-golf course, and plenty of camping.

We are currently building a new side stage, in the Shangri-La Village, for use at Pink Moon III  Future projects include the construction of a larger main stage out of salvaged wood from condemned barns and out-buildings across the property and the creation of large installation art projects throughout the venue.  Festival goers can enjoy an incredible mountain view from Graveyard Hill (this land has been in our family for four generations), 9- holes of putt-putt, live music on two stages, and exotic arts and crafts in our vending village.

This year we will feature a "Body Painting Booth" for charity featuring local, regional and national guest artists ready to use festival goers as their canvases.  Services are free, with a suggested donation of $5 to be given to the music and arts programs of the Monroe County Public School System.  Attendees can 'bare all' or just show a little skin to wear fantastic artwork throughout the weekend.

Really though, this years line-up is what we're most excited about.  On Friday we warmly welcome Donna Jean Godchaux to our stage in celebration of festival creator Seth Abramson's late mother Pinky, for whom the festival is thrown.  A former and long time member of The Grateful Dead, Donna Jean is our birthday present to Pinky, and the headliner to complete our "Dead Family Friday".  Josh Phillips Folk Festival will round out the evening.  Other performances on Friday include regional heroes The Kind,  the very talented Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and Funk Punch & Catatronic.

Saturday will be a storm of local talent, regional rockers, and national super stars.  Particle is only playing 8 shows on the east coast...and we're one of them!  We've scheduled in plenty of time for them to rage it Saturday night.  Regional hero DJ Rahbee will open and close for Particle.  We're also thrilled to welcome back Sol & Funk Root and the DJ Williams Projekt.  Sol has been with us from the beginning as this will be his third Pink Moon appearance.  DJ Williams is joining us for a second time.  Other highlights of the day include The Materia Project, Discordian Society, The Boatmen and Triscale.

Pink Moon
has hosted a great wealth of talent in it's three short years.  In years past our headliners have included EOTO, Boombox, The Lee Boys, Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band, Telepath, Archnemesis, and Sol.  The Pink Moon Festival continues to be a gathering of incredible talent, both established and up-and-coming.

We are continually building a community of musicians and artists, festival goers and production folks, to create the best grassroots festival around.  We can create custom sponsorship packages including (but not limited to) giveaways, booth space, advertising deals etc, and we adore sponsorship barters.  Become a part of our family, and together we can build something wonderful.
